effing hero of hyrule!

I WON I WON I WON!! I BEAT IT!

I stabbed around until I found Ganon and then once he turned red I shot him with the silver arrow as MY HEART EXPLODED WITH PRIDE.

It only took me four months!

I hear the next one is awful, but I will forge ahead bravely.

dungeon 8: vanquished

GUYS I BEAT DUNGEON 8!! I AM ON MY WAY TO DEATH MOUNTAIN HOLLAAAAA!

Remember all that trouble I had with the last Gleeok? Well this time I just ran in and hit him a bunch of times and he was dead. Also my fear of darknuts: thing of the past. I am growing as a person, here.

i measure productivity in new ways

Yesterday I flat out CONQUERED dungeons 6 and 7 (seven was almost embarrassingly easy), and I feel really complete and hopeful. Especially since my spouse proudly watched me do it. I feel like somebody from a late 70s movie who somehow managed to never learn how to read (maybe they got by on their looks like Jordan Catalano?)* and now everyone is pitching in to help them in a condescendingly, supportive, and touching way. Then at the end of the movie, they cheerfully struggle through some kid’s book and everyone gets misty eyed. That is what’s happening here, but I’m OK with it.

Here are things I learned yesterday that have changed my/Link’s life:

1. The silver boomerang – I guess I got it awhile back but ignored it. Turns out it is soooo useful. I’m retrieving items and stunning enemies all over the place now.

2. The magic wand – I definitely typed “wang” in there by accident just now. The wand is my new favorite – emitting magic beams and killing goriyas in like a second.

3. The secret rupee map that Ross gave me – With that, I was able to buy the Bait and give the old man 100 clams to allow me to carry more bombs. I CANNOT BE STOPPED. Except when I was stopped in dungeon 8 by all the darknuts. I’ll persevere though. I know their secret, and with the magic wand they are toast. Although now that I have the magic book, my wand blasts end in fire, into which I sometimes stumble. I can’t really see the point of that.

Maybe  I will buy this when I beat this game:

*I AM known for getting by on my looks, after all.**
**No, no I’m not.

mind blown

I had no idea about secret rupees and my life just changed. Thanks, Ross!

Ross also clued me in about the silver boomerang which I’d had all this time but forgotten about.

gohma? more like coma!

I beat Dungeon 6 finally! Gohma is easy, and I shot her with an arrow in the eye that looked like it hurt.

OK on to level 7, where I have to figure out what happens where fairies don’t live or whatever. ENOUGH OF THIS CRYPTIC BS, OLD MAN. I WILL FIND YOUR SECRETS.

wizzrobezz

I beat Gleeok in Dungeon 6 finally, but now I keep dying because of blue wizzrobes.

I don’t even know who this boss is at the end of this dungeon, but it better be easy because I can’t deal with these wizzrobes anymore. In my heart I know they are easier than the blue darknuts that troubled me in the last dungeon, but right now I am over it.

I also got a magic wand, which I know I should be excited about for whatever reason but it isn’t helping me with these wizzrobe jerks, that’s all I know.

Gleeok is an Asshole

loz-gleeok

I had trouble beating Gleeok the Neverending Dragon in whatever dungeon he showed up first…4 maybe? Anyway, now I’m in dungeon 6 (THE DRAGON!) and the guy now has three heads and is hella pissed.

Encouragement and help?

Worst Zelda Player Ever

Here is where I slog through the foreign land that is Nintendo and attempt to play all the Zelda games everyone else I know has long since mastered. Give me your advice!
